Nicaraguan born G. Cantillo already has available its newest record material, "The Streets".

The love, the social problems and the youth were sufficient inspiration for Germán Cantillo, who after five years of work managed to mix all these thematic in his first album called The streets.
This incipient Nicaraguan composer, who resides in Canada, fuses in his musical proposition alternative rock with latin percussion and jazz. Three sonorous elements that owes to his own band Santa Lucia LFR (latin, funk and rock).

Comprising thirteen songs the streets is the vehicle that Cantillo has found to express its position set against the situation that Latin America lives nowadays. I’ve always been fascinated by songs that create conscience, although also the romantics. Nevertheless, my group and I we’re not neither Ricky Martín neither Enrique Iglesias. We are more experimental, and we want to do deep things”.

Counting time

On this cd songs excel as Funk, that though does not have any lyrics is a catchy melody in which Cantillo clarifies his musical influence. In the seventies in the United States musicians began to create diverse rhythms, that were quite identifying with the black race and that then they came to mix with Latin American influences. That it is basically what I like, assured.

The streets cry freedom is the song that inspires this Nicaraguan artist to title its debut album. It undertakes the social political phenomenon that faces the Central American Isthmus such as the corruption and the poverty. and to please a different kind of audience he created counting time, is the history of a man that begs his beloved one to be soon by his side.

He defined himself as a spontaneous artist that can’t sit down to write a song the feeling its not there when I try to force myself to write something everything happens out of nowhere, ideas flow in the air in my head when I want to express something. and my songs are product of experiences and talks with friends.

Began with the flute

Currently, Cantillo works in a business that is dedicated to offer environmental solutions. But, from this album, is willing to give himself more space in his life to music.

It considers positive that years ago was a member of two california bands. He recalls that in his first experience was the group amor y odio (also rock en español), but did not last a great deal because of problems among the band members. Besides, we had to seek work to feed ourselves.

Then ended up being the bassist for Zanzíbar, that according to this artist, was one of the most famous groups of eastern Canada. It was formed in their majority by Salvadorians and they played a number of danceable music.

Cantillo have grown with the music. As a boy played the flute in the school band and later taught himself guitar. Gradually I play bass for a while with other bands and now desires to do well with his own group.
Cantillo has plans to introduce himself as a singer-songwriter and to carry out several presentations in its native Nicaragua. For this I am working in the financing, because I need to bring the original band members and that costs money.
